We’re a global, culturally aware team of designers, marketers and strategists. Founded in New Zealand in 1987, our team spans four continents and many cultures.

We started calling ourselves Designature, but in 1989 a client began referring to us as ‘Jack Yan & Associates’. The name stuck. It was also easier for our bank to deal with.

By the early 2000s, our brand work was taking off and we spun this part off as JY&A Consulting. We were picking up more international jobs, building momentum. But as the market shifted, we recognized that ‘Consulting’ became too vague.

So, we took our own advice. We rebranded. We head into the mid-2020s as JYA Creative, describing what we are more accurately. We take on client jobs, regardless of design discipline and medium.

Our team has come together over many years, some of us having working together since 2000.

Mindful of our heritage, we’re acutely aware of the future, the wider socio-political culture, and future technological and design trends. We’ve watched the rise of digital and know the benefits and drawbacks. We’ve developed branding models that have stood the test of time.
